GGPoker Leaderboards

How leaderboard races usually work (and how to approach them)

Leaderboards are ranking systems that reward performance or activity over a defined period (daily, weekly, monthly). They can be fun and profitable if you already planned to play that volume. They can also be a trap if you start “grinding for points” without bankroll limits.

Common leaderboard types

  • Cash game races: rankings based on hands played, rake generated, or net results.
  • Format-specific: Rush & Cash, Spin & Gold, specific tournament series.
  • Series rankings: points based on finishes across multiple events.
  • Loyalty tiers: progress-like systems tied to play volume (often a separate “rewards” program).

Where to find leaderboards

  1. Open the GGPoker client.
  2. Look for a menu item labeled Leaderboards or a “Promotions/Rewards” section.
  3. Choose the format (cash games / tournaments / Spin & Gold, etc.).
  4. Filter by time period and stakes, if available.

What to read before joining a race

Check Why it matters
Eligible games/stakes Some races only count specific tables or buy-ins.
Scoring method Hands, rake, and net results lead to very different strategies.
Time window Daily races can require intense volume; weekly races are steadier.
Prize type Cash vs tickets; tickets may expire or be restricted.

Practical strategy: don’t chase points

  • Set a hard stop for time and losses before you start.
  • Don’t move up in stakes just to climb faster.
  • If you’re tired, stop—mistakes cost more than points are worth.
  • Treat leaderboard rewards as a bonus on top of your normal plan.

Tip: If you already play Rush & Cash, check the Rush-specific races first. That format naturally generates high hand volume.

EV first, leaderboard second

Chasing points at the wrong stakes or format often hurts your win rate. Pick races that fit what you would play anyway, and treat prizes as extra—not the reason to grind.

Ticket prizes

  • Short expiry is common—schedule the tournament immediately.
  • Some tickets lock you into specific buy-ins or series.

FAQ

Should I move up stakes to catch the leaderboard?

Usually no. Higher variance and tougher fields can cost more than the reward is worth.

Can I run multiple leaderboard races at once?

Sometimes, but volume and fatigue stack up quickly. One focused race is often safer.
